{"id":319,"date":"2009-03-28T08:12:25","date_gmt":"2009-03-28T16:12:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/?p=319"},"modified":"2009-03-30T04:17:08","modified_gmt":"2009-03-30T12:17:08","slug":"poison-oak-old-rigs-and-new-rigs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/?p=319","title":{"rendered":"Poison Oak, Old Rigs and New Rigs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mtbbill.com\/cpg\/albums\/LakeHodges\/normal_MattsRevampedBike-25MAR09-03.jpg\"><\/a>For the last week and a half I have not been riding as I had gotten myself a mighty fine batch of Poison Oak.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I had it in enough strategic places that riding a bike would not be fun.\u00a0 I&#8217;m still dealing with some of it, but I&#8217;m beyond the worst of it.\u00a0\u00a0 This past Wednesday Matt came by Casa Del Bill with a whole bunch of bike goodies to rebuild and spice up his current bike.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mtbbill.com\/cpg\/albums\/LakeHodges\/normal_MattsRevampedBike-25MAR09-01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"border: black 3px solid;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/4521b2ed24a7cc061092b3aa03f5d761.jpg?resize=840%2C560\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"560\" imagescaler=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/4521b2ed24a7cc061092b3aa03f5d761.jpg?resize=840%2C560\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The first order of buisness was to get out all of the proper &#8220;tools&#8221; for this project.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mtbbill.com\/cpg\/albums\/LakeHodges\/normal_MattsRevampedBike-25MAR09-02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"border: black 3px solid;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/adfe65923e31f7f66a056ceb3a0a3ef8.jpg?resize=599%2C899\" alt=\"\" width=\"599\" height=\"899\" imagescaler=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/adfe65923e31f7f66a056ceb3a0a3ef8.jpg?resize=599%2C899\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>New wheelset, cassette, chain, headset, shifters,\u00a0crankset, brakes, seat, and seatpost made for quite a revamp for this bike.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mtbbill.com\/cpg\/albums\/LakeHodges\/normal_MattsRevampedBike-25MAR09-03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"border: black 3px solid;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/9ed9c828c3b0c6c03cc2cf6b97104663.jpg?resize=599%2C899\" alt=\"\" width=\"599\" height=\"899\" imagescaler=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/9ed9c828c3b0c6c03cc2cf6b97104663.jpg?resize=599%2C899\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It did not take long before all the bits starting coming together.\u00a0 As usual, I found getting the front derailuer aligned properly to be a pain in the rear.\u00a0\u00a0 Here is Matt trimming the brake lines.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mtbbill.com\/cpg\/albums\/LakeHodges\/normal_MattsRevampedBike-25MAR09-04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"border: black 3px solid;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/5eb7d3e0e1f18dcf34de05649c0f163a.jpg?resize=599%2C899\" alt=\"\" width=\"599\" height=\"899\" imagescaler=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/5eb7d3e0e1f18dcf34de05649c0f163a.jpg?resize=599%2C899\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This overall ended up going smoothy as a three-beer job and before you know it was ready to hit the trail.\u00a0 Matt ended up taking out first thing the following morning.<\/p>\n<p>So Friday rolls around, and my various bits are\u00a0are feeling up to try some saddle time so\u00a0I swing by\u00a0Matts place\u00a0in Del Dios for\u00a0a spin through Lake Hodges.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0He has just picked up a new singlespeed and needed to get it out on its maiden voyage.\u00a0\u00a0 He had not been out to Raptor Ridge before so that was the destination.\u00a0 On the way out there we scoped out the Pedestrian &#8211;
