{"id":1218,"date":"2013-12-08T13:56:38","date_gmt":"2013-12-08T21:56:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/?p=1218"},"modified":"2018-09-09T13:59:35","modified_gmt":"2018-09-09T21:59:35","slug":"santa-margarita-trail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/?p=1218","title":{"rendered":"Santa Margarita Trail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It had been about five years since I had last been on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/SMaRT.htm\">Santa Margarita River Trail<\/a>.\u00a0 This trail systems was a victim of the 2007 wildfires in San Diego County but has made a remarkable recovery.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/SMaRT-28NOV13-24.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1331\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/8e7a1b6b6c3f29fab697eaa4f737baab.jpg?resize=840%2C560\" alt=\"SMaRT-28NOV13-24\" width=\"840\" height=\"560\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There had been quite a bit of rain in the previous days before I did this ride.\u00a0\u00a0 This place has quite a bit of sand and the previous rains had the sand nicely packed.\u00a0\u00a0 The flora had also quickly responded to the moisture and where flush with color.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/SMaRT-28NOV13-17.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/54d0894c263e9c26a46c6c5bdd4a173e.jpg?resize=840%2C560\" alt=\"SMaRT-28NOV13-17\" width=\"840\" height=\"560\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There were some spots of dramatic change since the fires.\u00a0 After the fires a lot of the retaining vegetation was destroyed .\u00a0 When heavy rains swelled the river the following river mother nature grabbed a sizable chunk of the bank.\u00a0 In the picture above, the trail is now right on the edge of the back when it used to be 10-20 feet away from the waters edge.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/SMaRT-28NOV13-19.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/8b01a88caef1d7588aaa4f823f05e262.jpg?resize=607%2C911\" alt=\"SMaRT-28NOV13-19\" width=\"607\" height=\"911\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I love some of the variety you get out here.\u00a0 The natural\u00a0rock chicanes\u00a0here make for some sporty flat land\u00a0bike handling.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/SMaRT-28NOV13-22.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/539df0d7735f7de3a020a749d7c5889c.jpg?resize=607%2C911\" alt=\"SMaRT-28NOV13-22\" width=\"607\" height=\"911\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then there are these flowing smooth single track sections under the trees that just make you grin.\u00a0It is a great time of year to get out there so I you have not been out here before it is worth checking out if you live here in the county and looking to check out some new turf.<\/p>\n<!-- Begin Yuzo --><div class='yuzo_related_post style-1'  data-version='5.12.81'><!-- without result --><div class='yuzo_clearfixed yuzo__title yuzo__title'><h3>More Stuff Like This<\/h3><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t  <div class=\"relatedthumb \" style=\"width:165px;float:left;overflow:hidden;\">  \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t  \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t  <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/?p=2299\"  >\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t  <div class=\"yuzo-img-wrap \" style=\"width: 165px;height:130px;\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"yuzo-img\" style=\"background:url('https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/wp-1594782433640.jpg?resize=150%2C150&ssl=1') 50% 50% no-repeat;width: 165px;height:130px;margin-bottom: 5px;background-size: cover;
