{"id":910,"date":"2011-08-09T05:56:23","date_gmt":"2011-08-09T13:56:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/?p=910"},"modified":"2011-08-13T10:57:00","modified_gmt":"2011-08-13T18:57:00","slug":"dirt-time-in-washington","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/?p=910","title":{"rendered":"Dirt Time in Washington"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So I have been in Seattle for a couple of weeks on a work gig but just managed to hit the dirt.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Man can not live in the dirt alone so I have been enjoying some of the other wonders of the Pacfic Northwest, thier\u00a0great microbrews.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In addition to the 10+ brewpubs in the Seattle area I have\u00a0swelled hoppy goodness at, \u00a0I attended the Bremerton Beer Festival. The following weekend was spent in Portland for the 24th Aniversary of the Oregon Brewer&#8217;s Festival.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In addition to the madhouse that was the Brewer&#8217;s Festival some of the local goods were also sample directly at the source.\u00a0 Deschutes, Bridgeport, Widmer, Tugboat and Amensia Brewing were on the &#8220;tour&#8221;.\u00a0 \u00a0Needless to I was stupidly happy about sampling some of the best beers around.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 My liver on the other hand felt differently after taking more than one for the team.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"border: black 3px solid;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/0fe075ff22a5e74bd62c31262495758c.jpg?resize=840%2C560\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As part of the MTBBill Liver Recovery Act of 2011, it was time to get some pedals turning.\u00a0\u00a0 The<a href=\"http:\/\/mountainbikebill.com\/WA-Colonnade.htm\"> I-5 Colonnade MTB Skills Park<\/a> is less than 10 minutes from where I&#8217;m staying so it is always good for a quick afterwork fix.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: black 3px solid;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/6ef40d8d9bbc9e44d355660b262a8b61.jpg?resize=840%2C560\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"560\" the weekend is part of the work gig for this project, but <a href=\"http:\/\/evergreenmtb.org\/wiki\/index.php?title=Trail:Green_Mountain\">Green Mountain <\/a>was close enough to where I was working to allow for some grunting and grinning in the dirt after work.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Air Time\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/evergreenmtb.org\/wiki\/index.php?title=Duthie_Hill\">Duthie Hill <\/a>Mountain Bike Park is the Seattle areas second MTB Skills Park and it is simply awesome.\u00a0\u00a0 With 120 acres to work with they are produced a trail network that caters to nearly all types of riders.\u00a0 Wither you are looking to get your wheels in the air&#8230;..<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"border: black 3px solid;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/9b7091d75cdb4b265945ae59b164d92a.jpg?resize=607%2C911\" alt=\"\" width=\"607\" height=\"911\" want to get that natural outdoor experience on a\u00a0meandering trail through the trees.\u00a0\u00a0 This place\u00a0has all of that right in Seattle&#8217;s backyard.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"border: black 3px solid;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/f53c5140893901bf15b5c974bfd81678.jpg?resize=840%2C560\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"560\" lines I did not hit out here \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 I believe this trail was Semper Dirticus.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The freeride double black diamond trails here\u00a0are quite impressive.\u00a0 On this trip it was mostly from a spectactor perspective.\u00a0\u00a0 I got the bike, I just need to develop the skills and get some testicular growth happening.\u00a0\u00a0 I did hit some of the stunts and tagged my largest gap to date to thier is hope that I will get intouch with my inner hucker at some point.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"border: black from a trail with features perspective was Ryan&#8217;s Eternal Flow.\u00a0\u00a0It is more of XC trail with stunts and features more so than a series of features with a trail between
