Today I had the pleasure of riding with the Sunday regulars down in Bonita in the south bay area of San Diego.\u00a0\u00a0 Boy what a great time I had.\u00a0\u00a0 I would be hard pressed to try and describe any kind of route.\u00a0 It was one of those just follow along and enjoy yourself kind of day.\u00a0\u00a0 The trail network is pretty extensive with stuff everywhere.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I could easily take a\u00a0aerial shot of the area, hang it on a wall and then\u00a0throw a saucy plate of\u00a0spagetti \u00a0on it and be pretty close to the actual trail layout.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

There were some pretty interesting descents here and there over the course of the day<\/p>\n

\"bowl\"<\/p>\n

We got in a little bowl action as well.\u00a0 I was told the record is seven bikers in the bowl at once.\u00a0 This is pretty tricky when you are zipping around and another rider gets into the bowl.\u00a0\u00a0It is even\u00a0more fun when one person goes opposite direction!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I have to get back here with the video camera.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"Bridge<\/p>\n

A little bridge action.\u00a0\u00a0 I forget how many of these things we crossed.<\/p>\n

\"Bushy\"<\/p>\n

There were some bushy spots on most of the trails.\u00a0 The branches are a lot stronger than they look.\u00a0\u00a0 I tried to moose my way through one of them and it stopped me dead in my tracks and pushed me backwards.\u00a0 (I could hear it laughing at me)<\/p>\n

\"Into<\/p>\n

There were a few G-Outs to contend with.\u00a0\u00a0 This was the most interesting one.<\/p>\n

\"Gout\"<\/p>\n

This was not an uncommon exit of the G-Out (Myself included)<\/p>\n

\"Smiles\"<\/p>\n

Nobody got hurt and snickers and laughs all-around was the result of any G-Out flubs.<\/p>\n

\"2nd<\/p>\n

Of course second time around was usually the charm.<\/p>\n

\"Karen\"<\/p>\n

There was some double teeter-tooter action to be had as well.\u00a0\u00a0 The guys sure seemed eager to help when\u00a0Karen wanted a spotter. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Even got to play around on a diving board (some creative trail-building material)<\/p>\n

This was a hell of a fun group of folks to ride.\u00a0 I guess we did around 20 miles or so, but it sure feels like more.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 There is some nice as well as challenging trails in the area.\u00a0 I stopped counting my dabs early on and I even managed to take a\u00a0soil sample or two to add to my collection.\u00a0\u00a0 It had been at least a couple of years since I last caught the 8AM Sunday morning\u00a0group ride\u00a0out of the Bonita Performance Bike parking lot.\u00a0 I don’t think I will be waiting\u00a0that long again.\u00a0<\/p>\n
