Coast-to-Coast Big Laguna Ride"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Back in the summer of 2008, while on a business trip to Philadelphia,\u00a0 JD showed me around <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/PA-Wissahickon.htm\">one of the local riding spots<\/a>.\u00a0 It was good stuff so I was glad to return the favor when my schedule and JD&#8217;s line up this past week.\u00a0\u00a0 One cool thing about air travel in the westward direction is the time zones work in your favor.\u00a0 JD took the first flight out of Philly on Monday and was in San Diego just before lunch.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I met him at the airport with an extra bike and we headed east.\u00a0\u00a0 Well not directly east.\u00a0 JD got here before lunch but his luggage decided to catch some brunch back in Philly and catch\u00a0him at his hotel later.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A quick stop by a local bike shop netted JD a fresh set of SPDs and some shoes before heading out.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"border: black 3px solid;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/f041608f31abbe6e3ba3a44bc802dab4.jpg?resize=599%2C899\" alt=\"\" width=\"599\" height=\"899\" imagescaler=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/f041608f31abbe6e3ba3a44bc802dab4.jpg?resize=599%2C899\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Big Laguna Trail system in the Laguna Mountains Recreation Area was\u00a0the designated &#8220;off-site conference location&#8221;.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sure there are\u00a0gnarlier bigger rides like the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/TourDeNoble.htm\">Tour De Noble<\/a> nearby but\u00a0this area is super pretty this time of year and we did not have all day.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"border: black 3px solid;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/01f41558154bbe3a5d5780039b9e04cf.jpg?resize=599%2C899\" alt=\"\" width=\"599\" height=\"899\" the ridge off of Red-Tail Roost.\u00a0\u00a0 I&#8217;m a big fan of Red-Tail Roost followed up by Los Gatos Ravine.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"border: black 3px solid;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/1de21d787de9ae11a55bc4a4f2480ac3.jpg?resize=599%2C899\" alt=\"\" width=\"599\" Sucks!\u00a0\u00a0 I think we talked enough shop to\u00a0confidently say we were not playing &#8220;hookie&#8221;.\u00a0\u00a0That&#8217;s my story and I&#8217;m sticking to it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"border: black 3px solid;\" good chunk of trails in the BLT system.\u00a0 On our final segment back to the truck the afternoon\u00a0light started to make some of the colors in the meadow pop which made for a nice way to finish
