Mojo vs Mangina"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This past Wednesday, I went out to Alpine for another\u00a0lesson in my continuing effort to get comfortable in the air.\u00a0\u00a0 It is was nice day out and the signs of spring were all around.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mtbbill.com\/cpg\/albums\/ATT09\/normal_ATT-01APR09-01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"border: black 3px solid;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/d3d6ee60ec3d339707b9d433a6c66dcc.jpg?resize=599%2C899\" alt=\"\" width=\"599\" height=\"899\" imagescaler=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/d3d6ee60ec3d339707b9d433a6c66dcc.jpg?resize=599%2C899\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mtbbill.com\/cpg\/albums\/ATT09\/normal_ATT-01APR09-ScreenShots-03.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"border: black 3px solid;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/22d4dd39afc9116fa02ec3dbde9b7c52.jpg?resize=840%2C473\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" imagescaler=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/22d4dd39afc9116fa02ec3dbde9b7c52.jpg?resize=840%2C473\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I was feeling pretty good that day with some Mojo flowing and was interested in\u00a0trying somethings that I feel I should have been hitting already but have just not done\u00a0yet.\u00a0 So I started off by hitting the &#8220;Satan&#8221; jump right off the top.\u00a0 The run in has always given me some grief as you are turning and there is enough stuff that keeping some speed can be tricky.\u00a0 After hitting this, I was thoroughly convinced that, yes I was a big wuss in the past for not doing this.\u00a0 I had to hit it a second time just for good measure.\u00a0 A good way to start off the descent.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mtbbill.com\/cpg\/albums\/ATT09\/normal_ATT-01APR09-ScreenShots-02.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"border: black 3px solid;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/af3c3685b3331ddcfc4b87b5019c45b4.jpg?resize=840%2C473\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" imagescaler=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/af3c3685b3331ddcfc4b87b5019c45b4.jpg?resize=840%2C473\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Next on the list was Corndog.\u00a0 If you have been following my blog, (Or my buddies post&#8217;s throwing me under the bus \ud83d\ude42 )you should remember that I taco&#8217;d my frontwheel on my last airing here.\u00a0 I have balked at this jump a handful of times since then.\u00a0 Today I finally hit this jump again, I flew well, landed fine, \u00a0and then got squirrely in the run out as I was off to the\u00a0right put managed to ride it out enough to get to a stop without having a yard sale.\u00a0 The good news was that I just rolled up and hit it.\u00a0 No looking and thinking, just going.\u00a0 It felt good.\u00a0 I decided I needed another one and this time I ended up angled left.\u00a0 In the air I could see that I was headed for the same spot I taco&#8217;d in\u00a0a few weeks earlier.\u00a0 The\u00a0bike touches down, here comes the\u00a0rut, and just before things were going to get\u00a0ugly I managed to push the bike off the left while I\u00a0lunge to the right.\u00a0 End result, I&#8217;m a little dusty but otherwise a\u00a0very successful bailout without\u00a0so much as a scratch on me.\u00a0 I have got to figure out my aim on this launch, I just have a hard time hitting the mark.\u00a0 Not counting all the\u00a0forfeits from not launching, the\u00a0grand total for\u00a0Corndog Launches is:\u00a02 wins &#8211; 2 losses &#8211; 1 tie\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mtbbill.com\/cpg\/albums\/ATT09\/normal_ATT-01APR09-02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"border: black 3px solid;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/b9efa66264940d09d8ec0005d8e52ea0.jpg?resize=599%2C899\" alt=\"\" width=\"599\" height=\"899\" imagescaler=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/b9efa66264940d09d8ec0005d8e52ea0.jpg?resize=599%2C899\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Threesome.\u00a0 This is a pretty big leap as it is not gravity feed.\u00a0 You have\u00a0to pedal as hard as you can to a very narrow, long and uphill tranny.\u00a0\u00a0Adding to this you come off the rock long before the edge and you can&#8217;t see where you are going.\u00a0 A real leap of faith.\u00a0 The pictures do\u00a0it absolutely no justice whatsoever.\u00a0\u00a0 Needless to\u00a0say I&#8217;m behind the camera here.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mtbbill.com\/cpg\/albums\/ATT09\/normal_ATT-01APR09-07.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"border: black 3px solid;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/9c416e665a338cd432ec1ce30d53f15e.jpg?resize=599%2C899\" alt=\"\" width=\"599\" height=\"899\" imagescaler=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/9c416e665a338cd432ec1ce30d53f15e.jpg?resize=599%2C899\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is called &#8220;The Threesome&#8221; as there are three lines.\u00a0 The big huck, and big tricky roll, and a much easier roll.\u00a0 The orignal idea was for the small roll to be a wall ride, but it did not pan out but the name sticks.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The\u00a0tricky roll\u00a0actually goes beyond vertical for bit so the easiest way is to roll and then give a little huck part way down.\u00a0 Here is\u00a0Steve on the way down, preloading before pushing off.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mtbbill.com\/cpg\/albums\/ATT09\/normal_ATT-01APR09-13.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"border: black 3px solid;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/8b5c0cb174f3e932a532cafb2431003c.jpg?resize=840%2C560\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"560\" imagescaler=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/8b5c0cb174f3e932a532cafb2431003c.jpg?resize=840%2C560\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Gaps scare the crap out of me, even little ones.\u00a0\u00a0 Something about\u00a0the upward trajectories required and the threat of casing that messes with my head.\u00a0 The one above is one of those that I have looked at for quite some time but have never pulled the trigger on it,\u00a0until today.\u00a0 After hitting this I could not help but think, &#8220;I fretted over that for that long?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mtbbill.com\/cpg\/albums\/ATT09\/normal_ATT-01APR09-17.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"border: black 3px solid;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/d45d5266af953adeb3bddf24d356f59f.jpg?resize=840%2C560\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"560\" imagescaler=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mountainbikebill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/imagescaler\/d45d5266af953adeb3bddf24d356f59f.jpg?resize=840%2C560\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The drop above is\u00a0typically called the &#8220;Lake&#8221;
