I don’t ride my single speed much.\u00a0 I like to think that I ride it just enough to remind myself how much I love my full suspension bikes.\u00a0\u00a0 When I went Lake Calvera on Saturday, I brought along the single speed for the post work ride.\u00a0\u00a0 Calvera does not beat you up too bad on a single speed, but it certainly adds to the effort per mile equation.\u00a0 After the trailwork and the ride, I was good and pooped at the end of the day.<\/p>\n
It did not take long\u00a0Sunday morning to realize that I had not been liberal enough with the sunscreen yesterday.\u00a0 I was not burnt, but a little toasty on the edges.\u00a0 Just enough to really feel the sun on my face when I went outside.\u00a0 It was an exceptionally gorgeous day and unseasonably warm\u00a0in the 80s.\u00a0\u00a0I got quite a bit of the house and family stuff taken care of and around\u00a04pm, I decided to sneak in a quite ride before the\u00a0day was gone.\u00a0 So a quite 10 minute drive from the house and I was at La Costa for the second time this week.\u00a0 I also grabbed the singlespeed on the way out as it was right by the garage door and not hung back up yet.\u00a0 Ahh what the hell was the general thinking.<\/p>\n
\u00a0The single speed put a\u00a0bit of a beat down on me as I was\u00a0just a little stiff from the day before.\u00a0I ended up having a good ride and caught yet another\u00a0good sunset to boot.<\/p>\n
